I've been day-dreaming about becoming an art teacher. My brother and I had a really long discussion today in which we reminisced about the teachers from school. I just remember them all of caricatures of what they were.
Because Stockton is totally deprived and neglected most of the teachers in Grangefield were shit, hence my probable below average IQ and apathetic nature however there were a few good ones. All of the best teachers had really strong memorable characteristics who are most likely could be made into a cartoon character like Mr Parling the Science teacher for example was this giant terrifying Frankenstein creature with wacky (possibly backcombed for effect) hair with a booming voice and a zombiefied walk. Another one was Mrs Chambers who I would describe as 'an evil version of Mary Poppins mathematical whizz' who always coordinated her eyeshadow, ear rings and out fit to one bold colour of the primary colour spectrum and used to make comments like "Don't be ridiculous I'm not God....yet" but she would say it so sincerely and convincingly that everyone was so scared that she was actually an evil genius mad woman with plots to take over the world. This is what made her a good teacher. Then you got those teachers who would just cry and lock themselves in a supplies closet, to be fair on them our year group were a load of horrible fucking bastards. I wonder what sort of teacher I would be hmm...I think I'd be half way between being an angry short tempered one and a silly lazy one. Aaanyway, here are some 'arty' creations I have come up with recently..
Little ribbon and button brooch thing which I plan to make lot's more of including hair accessories, badges etc.
