"I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night"

One of my favourite nights when I was living on the island was when I went out at low low tide in mid-August, when the water between two of the islands had went right out. We went at the perfect time when the tide was at it's lowest so about two in the morning. We took torches because it was otherwise, absolute blackness. The same night a meteor shower was occuring, the Perseids meteor shower and so as I stood right in the middle of the channel between the islands, hundreds of crabs scutteling around my feet and millions of starfish and glittering phospherences, turned off the torch and looked up I saw literally hundreds of shooting stars that night.

Magazine

I was reading our mam's Grazia magazine today. It annoys me how the models stand, everyday people don't stand like that on the streets, with their legs spread and with a disconcerting scowl plastered on their face as though they're about to hit you. I am totally clueless and pretty ignorant to the world of high fashion. My idea of a fashionable outfit comes from gathering evidence of what looks good from on musicians, my friends, looking at trendy, happy skinny people on fashion blogs, fictional characters on TV or just whatever baggy things the charity shops are offering.

cow field

I painted this of when my friend and I snook (snook/sneaked??..meh)into a field where I think maybe the cows were meant to be and crawled under that barbed wire so we could sit on a nice little grassy ledge over-looking a small secret beach on this little island where I lived for 8/9 months. We did have a habit of wandering in to the fields where the cows lived

Saltburn

Saltburn is such a weird name for a seaside town isn't it? Like "Redcar".

Now that I'm pretty certain I'll never be 'the next big thing' in music which I was so sure of until about the age of 11, the same age I realised I'd never marry Keanu Reeves or be the sixth spice girl, I need to figure out what the hell I'm going to do with my life before I contract and die from this swine flu I'm pretty sure I'm starting to develop my throat is really sore and last night my dream featured a pig - a sign maybe?
I've been day-dreaming about becoming an art teacher. My brother and I had a really long discussion today in which we reminisced about the teachers from school. I just remember them all of caricatures of what they were.

Because Stockton is totally deprived and neglected most of the teachers in Grangefield were shit, hence my probable below average IQ and apathetic nature however there were a few good ones. All of the best teachers had really strong memorable characteristics who are most likely could be made into a cartoon character like Mr Parling the Science teacher for example was this giant terrifying Frankenstein creature with wacky (possibly backcombed for effect) hair with a booming voice and a zombiefied walk. Another one was Mrs Chambers who I would describe as 'an evil version of Mary Poppins mathematical whizz' who always coordinated her eyeshadow, ear rings and out fit to one bold colour of the primary colour spectrum and used to make comments like "Don't be ridiculous I'm not God....yet" but she would say it so sincerely and convincingly that everyone was so scared that she was actually an evil genius mad woman with plots to take over the world. This is what made her a good teacher. Then you got those teachers who would just cry and lock themselves in a supplies closet, to be fair on them our year group were a load of horrible fucking bastards. I wonder what sort of teacher I would be hmm...I think I'd be half way between being an angry short tempered one and a silly lazy one. Aaanyway, here are some 'arty' creations I have come up with recently..

Little ribbon and button brooch thing which I plan to make lot's more of including hair accessories, badges etc.
